Borneo is the third largest island in the world and the paradise of Indonesia. It is divided among three countries- Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei, of which major portion is in Indonesia’s Kalimantan. Borneo’s tropical rainforest is one of the oldest in the world which has variety of plants and animals. Borneo’s ethnicity is mainly dominated by Dayak group. Traditionally they are tribes known for their culture and traditions. They wear coloured attire and live in long houses. Music and dance plays in integral part in their festivities. Chinese is another important ethnic group residing in the Singkawang area. With numerous Chinese temples around, this place is a mini China in itself. So, if you fall in the category of explorer, traveller and wanderer, Borneo which is considered as Indonesia’s treasure trove should definitely feature in your travel list.
