Latest Snowfall in Uttarakhand

Several Places including Dhanaulti, Munsiyari and Kedarnath in Uttarakhand Witnessed Heavy Snowfall Today, Alert till January 24th.

Pictures shared by tourists on several social media platforms show Uttarakhand valleys turned into winter wonderlands today after heavy snowfall. As per the latest Uttarakhand weather update, it has been raining since yesterday and in the early hours of Friday (January 20, 2023) heavy snow started pouring down. As the pictures started doing rounds on different media platforms, places like Dhanaulti, Munsiyari, Chakrata, Buranskhanda, Surkanda, Nag Tibba, Mussoorie, Auli and Kartik Swami Temple started receiving tourists from nearby states.

The MeT Department has forecasted snowfall in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand for the next four days till January 24. After today’s snowfall, a drop in temperature has also been recorded. However, this is the second snowfall witnessed in some of the popular tourist places like Dhanaulti, Mussoorie, Char Dukan and Lal Tibba, during this winter. In addition to this, people living in Dehradun can clearly see the snowy peaks of Mussoorie and Dhanaulti from different places.

Apart from these places, Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham also received heavy snowfall on Friday. Videos coming from different platforms show that the temples are partially covered in snow.

As the snowfall started this morning, tourists and local businessmen have blossomed with happiness as their winter trip is getting successful this time. People are enjoying the views of the shining valleys covered in fresh sheets of snow wherever their eyes go.
